Krystie is a firecracker on a mission to cultivate creative confidence in the next generation of BIPOC dreamers and doers. As a curious multi-hyphenate, she also works as a creativity coach, a brand + community consultant, and a storytelling instructor with The Moth. When she’s not channeling her energy towards issues that move her, you can find her scheming in one of her many journals, basking in the sun with her rescue pup, or dancing under the moonlight with friends.
Christina (xt) thrives on creating comforting spaces—whether it’s bringing people together for meaningful moments or building cultures that allow individuals to thrive. She hopes this work will allow her daughter and future hapas to celebrate their Asian American identity. When she’s not making magic with Slant’d, she’s likely enjoying a long run, an almond milk cappuccino by the window, or creating memories with her little family.
Jenn is a heart-led community builder that finds deep joy in the messy unknown. Here at Slant’d, she works to craft an abundant haven for Asian Americans to freely play, connect, and celebrate their personal stories. Based in Brooklyn (+ hailing from Philly!), Jenn is a glass artist, jewelry maker, and marketing and partnerships manager. Offline, she’s passionate about secondhand fashion, solo dance parties, her cats Galloway and Ibu.
Cece is a proud Bay Area native and on top of repping Oaktown just a little bit too hard, she is the most extroverted Scorp you’ll meet. A triple water sign with enough tears to fill the Pacific, she turned to art and expression for all of her feelings. When she’s not at Kith adding to her hypebeast wardrobe, snowboarding or out driving boys on the golf course, she’s forgetting to ask for permission to bring her dog Wally everywhere she goes. You’ll find them vibing on the dance floor to hip hop and r&b.
Emily is a fire tiger and it shows in her passion for getting things done and in her myriad of interests. At Slant’d, she hopes to help the team continue marching towards realizing their vision of elevating AAPI voices. A business person by trade, but an artist at heart, in her spare time Emily likes crafting with her children, cooking, podcasting, playing any type of racquet sport, and watching TV (hit her up for recommendations).
Kimmy loves dedicating her energy to collaborative creative efforts—especially when they involve print media and an important cause! At Slant’d, she aims to support editors to be confident and compassionate when ushering stories onto the page. When she’s not juggling multiple jobs, Kimmy is feeding her screen addiction, working on a craft project for someone’s birthday, reading a book she won’t finish, or enjoying a (relatively) nice drink with her nearest and dearest.
A born and raised New Yorker, Kitty is a strategic thinker who thrives on uncovering the "why" behind human behavior and cultural patterns. Previously a partner of a digital agency, Kitty has over a decade of brand and marketing experience across various industries, and she's excited to finally direct her expertise toward elevating AAPI voices and stories at Slant’d. In her down time, you can find her ignoring her protesting knees on the dance floor at shows, expanding her ever-growing Google Maps restaurants list, and most recently, making polymer clay magnets (ask her about the pigeons!).
Michelle may love design, but she also hopes that her design can contribute to good in the world. One of her passions is lending her talents to AAPI causes. Slant’d is where she hopes to provide mentorship to a team that inspires creativity by marrying art + word. Michelle is truly a city girl hailing from the Bay Area to NYC, but now residing in Los Angeles. You can often find her hanging out at a maker market, eating KBBQ, doling out life hacks to her friends, or snacking at home watching the indie horror movies with her husband and (also snack-loving) dog.
A former-academic-turned-editor, Tiff’s on a life-long mission to uplift her communities by carving out spaces for and shedding light on their stories one draft and/or Google Doc at a time. She loves consuming all types of content, especially anything within the Fantasy, Sci-Fi, or Strange Fiction spaces. When she’s not strapped to her computer for her 9-5 gig, Tiff can often be found staring off into space, world-building fictional landscapes in her overly-imaginative head while putzing about (read: bumping into everything around) the house.
Stephanie is a total design nerd with a knack for visual storytelling. She utilizes her love of color and typography to bring stories to life. At Slant’d, she’s excited to help AAPI writers and artists make their dreams of publishing a reality. When she’s not finding the perfect shade of periwinkle, you can find her at every NY Liberty home game, riding her bike to some trendy new bakery or dinking some pickleballs.
Sandy believes that building an authentic brand starts with embracing your unique voice and style—whether personal or professional. For her, design isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about creating experiences that spark connection, comfort, and meaningful change. Passionate about amplifying AAPI voices, she thrives on collaborating with amazing talents. On the side, a multi-tasker at heart—she works out while binge-watching the latest shows, experiments with recipes (some hits, some epic fails), obsessively cleans while listening to audiobooks and podcasts, or getting lost in her latest shopping spree. She blends creativity, fun, and purpose in everything she does, with the goal of inspiring confidence and authenticity in those she collaborates with.

Passionate about the intersection of arts and social justice, they focus their creative pursuits on fostering community and capacity building and leverage their organizing and stakeholder management expertise to drive impact in the corporate world. Emily loves food, foraging, and pushing their limits through running.
Jenny is an environmentalist hailing from Phoenix and Beijing. She loves helping others pursue their passions and trying to capture our nuanced world with words. Find her in the California coastal breeze hiking, climbing, writing, boiling soup, or chasing basketballs and frisbees.
Ngân is a Sài Gòn born, Bay Area raised community builder & artist. She believes in the transformative power of creativity & storytelling to cultivate collective healing within the AAPI community. She is also a CEP & CPA with a 10-year career in finance at high-growth tech companies.
Jenn is a heart-led community builder that finds deep joy in the messy unknown. Based in Brooklyn, she is also an artist, a founding board member of Slant'd, and has built a career around brand partnerships and marketing for world-class luxury and hospitality brands. She is especially passionate about artist-centric experiences and mutual aid.
With over a decade of experience across the film industry landscape, Eric is dedicated to elevating the next generation of storytellers, most notably through his work with media non-profits and higher education. Raised in the Bay Area and based in Los Angeles, Eric is a graduate of UC Berkeley and NYU’s MBA/MFA creative-producing program.
Mike is a 5th generation Chinese-Canadian who has deep roots within representation / activism as his great, great-grandfather (Mah Bing Kee) became the first person of colour to own land in British Columbia. Now as a Toronto resident, Mike is currently exploring how he can support underrepresented communities. Mike has over 20+ years of retail experience working for global organizations and holds a “Fostering Inclusion and Diversity” Certificate from Yale School of Management and BFA from the University of Victoria
